Summer Reading Challenge for Kids 2026
It’s easy!
1. Visit the library this summer
2. Sign out books
3. Look for your name on a chart posted in the library
4. Put a star on your chart ~ 3 stars = a prize from the prize basket
5. Repeat steps 1-3
If you earn 5 stars you may pick a ‘stuffie’ from the Stuffie Bin!
We hope families make library visits a part of their summer routine ~ enjoy looking at books and reading together.
Summer Reading Challenge for Adults 2026
The Alphabet Challenge
Read a book starting with each letter of the alphabet (not including “a” or “the”). For tough letters like Q, X, Z , the letter can be anywhere in the title. Read in any order, and mix genres (fiction, nonfiction, etc.). Track your progress by dragging the image below to your desktop to print, or pick one up when the library reopens in May. Read at least 10 books between now & Oct. 12, and you will be eligible to win 1 of 4 gift cards from the G’Town Store.

StoryWalk®

Visit our new StoryWalk® written by students during Georgetown Central School’s after-school writing club. Each student chose an animal that can be found in Georgetown. Over six 1hour sessions, which ended up being 8, the girls researched and found information that they felt would be interesting to readers. They then put their information onto pages and drew illustrations to make their writing come alive. You can learn about local a bird, mammal, and fish as you walk the easy adaptive trail at Schoener Robinhood Cove Preserve. We hope you enjoy reading it as much as the girls did writing it!
